Library Policies & Lost or Damaged Books

Library Books may be checked out for a period of two weeks, and may be renewed up to three times if the book has not been requested by another student. There are no overdue book fines. An OHS I.D. card, a copy of the student's schedule or the student's memorized I.D. number is required for a student to check out a library book. A student may have up to three library books checked out at the same time.

 

Photocopies:
A copier is available for student use.  School related copies are free for students, non-school related copies are 10 cents each.


Computers:
The Library has 63 Internet connected computers available for student use. Library computers are to be used for school related computer activities only. The cost of printing is 10 cents per page if it is not school-related. The Library printer prints in black and white only.

 Lost or Damaged Textbooks:

 

Book replacement can vary from $10 to $200, depending on the book. Call the library at ext. 2061 to find out the price. Per Education Code 48904(a), students are responsible for their books and the cost. Damage charges can vary all the way up to full cost depending on what damage occurred. If a book is turned in within a year, the student receives his/her money back.
